The Hellenic-American Flowerology

The Hellenic Society
University of Wisconsin – Madison

This is the fruit of an intense three-year project, whose initial ideas were conceived one foggy night at Chi-Chi's Mexican restaurant by Thodoris Alexopoulos, Yiorgos Banos, Roulis Kazadzis, and Pantelis Sinos. Hitherto numerous enthusiastic supporters contributed to the development of the work's intellectual content. The Hellenic American Flowerology is a dynamically evolving collection of Greek proverbs and colloquialisms reproduced in English word transliteration. It is the incarnation of our emotional creativity, of the authentic Hellenic spirit at its best.

The list is currently being maintained and steadily, albeit slowly, enhanced by Alexios Zavras (flowerology@zvr.gr), an alumnus who welcomes any contributions.

Forward in the road that engraved the Hellenes of Madison!
